Learjet 60
The Learjet 60 is the midsize jet that climbs and cruises like something bigger. It gets to altitude quickly, cruises at about 450 knots and covers about 2,400 nautical miles, so a three hour midsize trip runs a little shorter. The cabin is a stand up cabin for anyone under about five foot eight, with a club of four up front and two seats behind, and the lavatory has a door. Clients pick it when speed matters more than cabin width, and it often quotes toward the lower end of the midsize range. We allow 60 to 80% of the listed baggage volume for packing. Assumed external dimensions: checked bag 28 × 20 × 12 in; golf travel bag 50 × 16 × 12 in; weekend bag 22 × 12 × 12 in. Counts are rounded down and show separate loads, not a combined allowance. Unspecified extra storage is excluded.

- Runway length against the load. At full weight the Learjet 60 needs more runway than the Excel or the Hawkers, so at a field of about 5,000 feet, like Destin Executive, a pilot checks the fuel and the passenger count before saying yes.
- Baggage. The bay is about 48 cubic feet behind the lavatory. Golf bags fit; a long ski bag or a full set of hard cases for eight may not. We ask about bags before we quote it.
